We are grateful for the land that gives.
From the Goldridge soils of Russian River Valley in Sonoma to the volcanic ash at the base of Mt. St. Helena in Calistoga to the clay loam creek beds just outside of St. Helena, the land where our vines are planted and our grapes are grown provides structure, complexity, and balance to our wines.

Calistoga, Napa Valley
Calistoga is our home base. In addition to some of our most prized vineyards, the LOLA House, office, and warehouse are also located here. We currently work with six organically farmed vineyards in Calistoga: four vineyard blocks around Greenwood Avenue (where Seth and Rafa live), growing Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Sirah, and Semillon; one vineyard just south of the LOLA House on Foothill Boulevard, of old vine, dry farmed Charbono; and the last vineyard north of Tubbs Lane, of old-vine, dry-farmed Orange Muscat.
Calistoga has a tremendous winegrowing history and we are proud to build upon it by preserving some of these special old-vine vineyards.

Russian River Valley, Sonoma Coast
Russian River Valley is where it all began. In 2004, Seth planted the first six acres of Pinot Noir that would become the backbone of the LOLA brand in the years to come. Over the years, we have expanded this vineyard to just over 20 acres total: about 15 acres of Pinot Noir and five acres of Chardonnay. The vineyard is located in the Bloomfield/Burnside Road area, just southwest of Sebastopol, at the southern end of the Russian River Valley AVA. This cooler part of the AVA allows us to produce wines that are lighter and more elegant in style. The vineyard has been farmed organically since 2011.

St. Helena, Napa Valley
St. Helena is where we organically grow grapes for some of our most sought-after wines. We tend to five vineyard blocks here: our Chenin Blanc and Malvasia Bianca, both planted over 50 years ago just north of downtown St. Helena on a gentle clay loam slope on the eastern side of Highway 29; our ever rare and oh-so sought-after Zinfandel, located in downtown St. Helena on Pope Street; our small planting of Paesante Noir, planted along the Napa River adjacent to Silverado Trail; and, lastly, our Cabernet Sauvignon, located off of Zinfandel Lane.
St. Helena is a second home to us, as it is really the heart of the wine business in the Napa Valley. We are proud to tend to our vines and produce our wines in St. Helena.

Santa Lucia Highlands, Monterey County
The Santa Lucia Highlands in Monterey County is where our Riesling is grown. The clone was brought back from Alsace in the early seventies and was propagated soon after in this cool winegrowing region. The vineyard is located off of River Road in the northern part of the Santa Lucia Highlands, overlooking the Salinas River Valley. Fog and ocean breezes off the nearby Monterey Bay funnel south, creating the cool climate that Riesling loves. The elevated vines take full advantage of the warm morning sunshine before the stiff afternoon maritime winds. The exceptionally long growing season — early bud break, lack of fall rains, and prolonged harvest — allows our Riesling to develop full phenolic ripeness while maintaining a piercing acidity and firm structure. We have been making wine from these same vines since LOLA’s inception.
